What does it cost and how is the money spent?
Our annual dues for new and renewing members are just $72 a year – the equivalent of only $6 a month. Membership dues help to cover the costs of PRAM’s social events, holiday parties, kids’ programs, newsletter, and more. Dues also help to pay for the operating and maintenance costs of the PRAM Community Fieldhouse and Garden.
I can’t afford to pay the annual dues. Can I still join?
Yes! PRAM strives to welcome and serve all parents with young children living in the greater Richmond area. Even if you can’t afford to pay the annual dues, please contact the membership coordinator directly: membership@pram.net
Are there specific income requirements for determining if a member can afford to pay?
We don’t have “income eligibility” requirements; approvals for memberships where a family is unable to pay are made on a case-by-case basis. Please keep in mind that PRAM is run entirely by volunteers and has a small budget. We depend on membership dues to run our programs and provide this amazing community resource to Richmond-area families, so if you can afford the annual membership dues, it’s a great way to show your support! We happily waive fees for those with limited financial resources.

I’d like to make a donation in addition to paying my membership dues. How can I do that?
We appreciate your generosity! If you can afford to make a small donation in addition to paying your dues, it helps us continue to offer free memberships to those who can’t afford to pay and to support PRAM’s many great activities. You can donate by clicking on the “Donate” button on our homepage.
How long is my membership good for?
PRAM membership is for a full year, from July 1st through June 30th of the following year.
I want to join PRAM as a new member. Can I join at any time or do I have to wait? Do I have to pay the full annual dues if it’s after July?
You can join PRAM at any time during the year. For new members, your annual dues will be pro-rated based on the month in which you join – you will only pay for the number of months left in the “dues year.” For example, if you join in August, your dues will be pro-rated for 11 months ($66) or if you join in March, your dues will be pro-rated for four months ($24).
You will be asked to renew your membership starting July 1 of the year after you join and you’ll be asked to pay the full $72 annual membership dues at that time.
How do I join?
Go to our Membership page and submit your name and email address to start the process. You will receive an email invitation to complete an application through the BigTent interface. (Make sure you check your spam filter for the email from Big Tent!)
Can I pay by check?
We encourage you to pay with a credit card or PayPal, both of which you can do online through the Big Tent interface that PRAM uses to manage its registration process. However, we do accept annual dues payments via personal check. When you register through Big Tent, you will be asked about how you’ll pay for your dues; if you select “personal check” you’ll be provided with the payment address. Please make sure to include a copy of your Big Tent registration info with your payment so that we can process your payment effectively.
How do I renew my membership?
You will receive a renewal invite 60 days prior to the expiration of your membership. BigTent will also send two renewal reminders. Just follow the instructions for renewal.
What do I do if I want to end my membership?
Contact membership@pram.net. You will be removed as a member and no longer receive the benefits of PRAM membership, but we do not refund any membership fees.
